Adam started making 8mm films when i was 11 years old and at 17talked his way into a real film in New York called Wanderers. He worked in the unofficial position of camera department trainee, followed by Martin Scorcese’s Raging Bull, and Brian Depalma’s Dressed to Kill. He then became an assistant cameraman and worked pretty much on stop for the next 5 years.
With the encouragement of the great Cinematographer Caleb Deschanel, Adam began working as a Cinematographer and shooting anything and everything was offered. By the early 90s, he had amassed over 100 music videos and a few dozen commercials and was offered a short fictional film by his friend and director to be, Ted Demme. Since that time he’ve photographed 15 feature films.
The highlights of which are Capote with Director Bennett Miller which was nominated for 5 Academy awards and an Independent Spirit awards for best Cinematography.
He was also nominated at the Independent Sprit awards for « Never let me go » directed by Mark Romanek.
