Daniel Voldheim is a Norwegian cinematographer, born in Oslo in 1975.
He studied cinematography at the National Norwegian Filmschool, where he graduated with the Academy Award nominated short ”The Martin Administration” in 2002.
After filmschool he started working as Director of Photography on commercials and music videos. Commercial clients include Apple, Google, Audi, Revlon, Budweiser and Ikea, in collaboration with directors like Gus Van Sant, Martin Werner, Joachim Trier and Andreas Nilsson.
His feature film debut came with ”Cold Prey” in 2007, followed by titles as ”Switch”, ”Shameless” and ”Into the White”.
In 2010 Voldheim shot and co-directed the TV mini series ”Norwegian Cozy” in collaboration with Thomas S Torjussen and Anne Sewitsky. ”Norwegian Cozy” won several awards, including the Norwegian Golden Screen for Best Cinematography and Best Directing. In 2014 ”Norwegian Cozy” was voted the best Norwegian TV series of the century by Norwegian film critics.
His recent work on feature films include ”Homesick” directed by Anne Sewitsky, and his first North American film, ”The Driftless Area”, starring Zooey Deschanel, John Hawkes, Frank Langella and Anton Yelchin
